** A SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE HELEN KELLER NATIONAL CENTER:
Do you know of any senior citizens who have vision and hearing loss who
might be interested in a seminar at HKNC focused on their unique needs?
An 86 year old woman who has light perception and is severely hard of
hearing came to HKNC back in November for four weeks of independent living
training which included an audiological eval, O&M, clothing identification,
kitchen safety, etc. It was a crash short term training homemaker course.
Due to the success of this course, the admissions committee has decided
to offer it again.
If you know of anyone who might benefit from this type of short term
training and willing to come, please contact
Susan Lascek

Georgia Blind Adventurers:
The Georgia Blind Adventurers (GBA) is a social/recreational club. Its
members include those with varying degrees of sight. Some of the club's
activities may be strenuous and require a reasonable amount of physical
stamina.
We also get together once a month for a dine-out at different restaurants
throughout the Metro-Atlanta area. The dine-outs are usually held on
the first Friday of each month, while the activities take place on the
third Saturday of each month. However, these dates may vary depending
on the weather, attendance, or other factors. There is an annual membership
fee of $10.
